- Types and/or sources of data targeted for use within Data Import (Assessment, Transportation, etc).
- Other needs related to importing target data (additional types/descriptors, etc).
- Other important use cases connected to data import needs (such as data visualization)

Notes (Field Experiences with Attendance)
Organization | Field Use Cases |
---|---|
Sample Field Experience |
|
Boston Public Schools (BPS) (Massachusetts) | Attendee(s): Bryce Avery, Tim Reed * Currently running on ODS/API v2.5 - working with Illuminate; SIS vendor is Follet. Considering moving to V3.x over the summer...but tentative at this stage. * Heard about Data Flow / Import at Tech Congres 2018 * Using Data Flow to load assessmeent data - not API enabled >>, Access4ELL, MS MCAP, and other * Have been encountering stability issues on Data Flow - looking forward to Data Import * Recent visit to Austin for in-house workshops and help -- w/ Data Flow...waiting for Data Import - got unblocked a bit more * Assumption: we will have to deal with file based imports over the long term |
Center for Educational Leadership and Technology (CELT) | Attendee(s): Mike Warner * Version v2.5 - currently on pause right now - trying to get Data Flow working on a local laptop - ran into difficulties * Loading assessment files - Florida standard and Renaissance Star assessment * Working with NEFEC team - working on standing up a v2.5 system - install DF on v2.1 system - but not in use yet. EQ 58 >> * Waiting for Data Import to be available |
Certica Solutions | Attendee(s): Charles Bergeman - Certica (Data Connect) * Looking at Data Flow in the context of Hillsborough - working with EdNexus collaborative; their intention to capture state assessment outcomes using Data Flow. SAT, PSAT, others * Certica has implementations in CA, NY, MA, NJ >> all of which have state assessment outcome needs - therefore looking at Data Import as a use case. Looking at other domains of data going forward. * Primary interest - to blend into Certica's Data Connect SAS platform. * Currently on v2.5 - monitoring different customers - for when to bring v3.x into the picture - similar timeline to Boston - 2019 school year if possible |
Eduphoric | Attendee(s): Chris Sprague * Dallas County Promise >> pilot using Data Flow to bring in assessment data to round out reporting applications. Maps that work with ACT, SAT, AP, IB, TSI * Focused on trying to do the least amount of pre-processing * Elaborate on pre-processing -- studentuniqueid is based on TSDS/SEA identifier...assessment downloads are using district student Id's...so crossing over and getting a student uniqueid from a district local id. |
EdWire | Attendee(s): JF Guertin * Looking at Data Flow * Supporting v2.x implementations; * Pain points >> lookups relying on data already in the ODS; Elaborating on the use cases for lookups: StudentId's (see ODS-2833). EdWire will write up assessment ID lookup needs. * Use cases: Primarily assessment use cases * Looking forward to v3.x |
Global Grid For Learning (formerly Edutone Corporation) | Attendee(s): Wally Reeves * Philanthropy funded project in Alabama >> most critical piece for student outcomes if formative assessment >> work is in/around assessment domain and trying to insert into student assessment objectives. Have written data connectors >> CSV --> ODS via direct database calls; formative assessment source data is de-normalized and custom tools need to normalize |
InnovateEDU | Attendee(s): Marcos Alcozer * Build and maintain data infrastructure for districts * ODS v3.1 - implement production ODS to land SIS certified data; evaluate use of DI for import of flat files * Flat file domains: Summit Learning, Renaissance Star, NWEA MAP |
Indiana Student Information to Empower (INSITE) | Attendee(s): Rosh Dhanawade, Lora Lovelace, Thelma Webb * Production v2.3, staging v2.5 (testing including w/ Dashboard dependency) * Loaded assessment via MC * Long tail of assessment vendors >> google sheets based assessment, state assessments (no prior mapping to utilize) * No data import usage yet >> SIS * No plan to upgrade to v3 in the 2019 school year....target 20/21 school year; DOE implementation is based on v2.3 |
North East Florida Education Consortium (NEFEC) | Attendee(s): Sherod Keen, Julia Brown, Daniel Hornsby * Associated to CELT/EADM work streams * working on standing up v2.5 - in production in 19/20 school year * Edutone >> objective assessments -- loading through custom SQL scripts -- move to Data Import -- and move away from SIS as a middle-man * Other needs: SPED data domains |
Rio Rancho Public Schools (RRPS) (New Mexico) | Attendee(s): Happy Miller, Paul Ramirez * New and recent; still to stand up an Ed-Fi ODS * Assessment domains: NWEA Map, iReady, Pearson assessments |
UPD Consulting | Attendee(s): Mark Reichert * TPDP domain - many flat file data sources to tackle - will test in Rio Grande TPDP pilot implementation |
