      Picture6.png

      • Picture7.png
      • Large, medium, small district bring different use cases for testing

      • Allow opportunity for testing in Pilot phase to identify issues

      • Vendors would like to be involved with state communications from the beginning

      • Vermont - when you use small medium and large, is this a relative term. for instance to some other states all our districts are small?

        • Kathleen - medium and large are relative, especially in large state like Texas

          • Look at sizes of your LEA, pick some of the bigger LEAs versus smaller LEAs

        • Kathleen - How did Vermont pick LEAs for participation in Pilot?

          • Vermont - we had 4 vendors in entire state

          • We went with PowerSchool that had most of the districts

          • At the end of the Pilot, small LEAs work with a small vendor called Alma. They are participating in the Parallel phase but have a long way to go.

      • Kathleen - difference between LEA participating in Pilot versus Parallel

        • Pilot - identify big hurdles that need to be corrected early on

          • Enhance, correct

        • Parallel - the more participation, the better Production will be. Best if 100% LEA participation, but at least 50%.

          • New issues will be identified, e.g. how to submit data through the API

          • First time LEA to receive data error back, learn how to use SIS error reporting to get errors corrected

          • Review state validation report, and how to make correction

          • Learn how to submit data, how to ask questions, how to communicate with the state and vendors

    • Minimize Last Minute API Changes by Planning Ahead

      • Challenge from Texas

      • Lack of collaboration with downstream systems, if not part of planning/testing, they may be reason for needing the data model changes

  • State Status

    • Kansas - Will start Pilot soon

    • Tennessee - In Parallel

    • Utah - Setting up Sandbox

    • Vermont - In Parallel phase, will be in Production next year, collecting data from LEA
