- Data quality validation
- Replaced an aggregate form previously submitted by districts
- Collect through student CTE participation based on CTE indicator in the course catalog & LEA references their local course code to the state course code; also include grade level and other key factors
- LEA have their own internal business rules re student concentrator/career
- Multiple courses can meet requirements in multiple areas and it is up to student as to which area they are concentrating on
- CTE Participants
- For CTE courses, we use SCED 8 which we use to build our state course master which has a CTE indicator
- LEAs can query our course master (or SIS can do get on /courses API and filter to display CTE courses https://dpi.wi.gov/wise/data-elements/coursereference
- WI has only been collecting data since 2018-19
- No credit requirement or course association
- Career Education Data Reporting https://dpi.wi.gov/sites/default/files/imce/cte/CPACTEERS/2020_02_26_how-CCR-CTE-relate_19-20.pdf

- Does any state have plans or reporting for assessment, proficiency, competency based requirement?
- Looking at mapping of work base learning experience
- Track record with SIS provider
- Discontinued to collect CTE indicator
- MN
- Project based learning
- One implementation of Project-based is that we are using a placeholder LEA course offering and section and then the student enrollment and grade is associated with an SEA course. So the project can be broken into the academic courses and grades and credits assigned.
- Available for collection, but does not have the student information system to support the data.
- Using locally created SCED code to connect to CTE
- CTE has one-off courses and programs
- For MN, CTE has to be Carl Perkins
- Work with DoubleLine
- Project based learning
Action Items:
- IN, SC, and MN to learn from what WI has done on CTE side
- IN to have short interview with MN (Karen) on PBL requirement and mapping
