- SIG activity. There was little discussion on the topic of the database SIG, but it was noted that the cost/business case that the TAG had identified as missing in its November 2018 meeting had been somewhat filled in by getting cost estimates from the community, revealing that estimates of SQL licensing appeared to be 6x to 10x the cost for production instances over cloud service provision.
- Upgrade. Some discussion of interest in N-1 API and the possibility of using design constraints on data modeling to make that work, but in limited areas.. There was alos the question if yoiu could possibly make 2 APIs run off a single backend.
- Use-case based documentation - this was presented and it was widely agreed that this was a MUCH improved way to approach the problem of training new users. One idea surfaced was that some "use cases" might not be a single analytics questions, but rather start with a simple data set and show how it maps into Ed-Fi (for example, this might work better with assessment.) Priority area is likely assessment.
