  • Breaking change cadence of “Break, Break, No change” on a 3 year basis
    • Avoids breaking changes for limited number of domains
    • Limits ability of agency to make change
    • Beginning of school year will put out a version for the following school year
    • 3 year cycle (3 years of runway with maintained support)
      • Light color diamond - early access
      • Dark color diamond - release
      • Deployment starts next school year
    • Subsequent releases based on these
    • Support for each version ends after 3 years

      • CEDS JSON Schema work group - Design and develop a JSON Schema to accommodate the need
      • Work needed to remove any confusion
    • CEDS and Ed-Fi need to coordinate release cycle

Action Items:

• Request of members to provide input on API 6.0 and DS 4.0 which will be reviewed by tech team by end of October
• After checking model, provide feedback to make it more useful - what has been missed; what can we improve?
