Last working session with this group was Ed-Fi Dashboards 2019-08-14 Meeting notes a few of the pending items from that meeting:
- LEA Interviews:
- LEA interview guide: This was a first draft to help guide conversations with LEA administrators and end-users. It does not ask directly about dashboards but aims to get information on:
- Roles and responsibilities - what drives their pain points and needs.
- Biggest challenges: Without giving any hints we want to capture the top of mind problems. If reporting or dashboards is not top of mind and the top of mind issues are not address by a dashboard it is important info!
- Sources of data: Hopefully not technical, we are looking for hints of what they have to work with. How many highly manual, frequency, quality?
- District Strategic goals: Along with the biggest challenges, we want to capture top goals and see if reporting or dashboards can/should be aligned to these.
- Are resources available: We are looking for funds available, do they have a dev or ops team? Anything else that we missed?
- LEA Interviews: We put this on hold because of timing and resources, so now it's time to make it happen!
- Aim to talk to at least 20 LEA's with a mix of administrator and end-user roles.
- Administrator roles would be easiest to get to for most group members.
- How can we reach teachers, counselors, end-users?
- Ed-Fi Dashboards UI Upgrade: We talked about it at the Summit but haven't dug into the details yet, there are a lot of details to the walkthrough:
- Scope and Desired Outcomes:
- What should be done?
- Are we aiming to help existing implementations only? Increase adoption? What would this work support?
- Cost and Timeline:
- How much would it cost?
- Who would test it/implement it in the field and when?
- Who can do this work?
- Roadmap currently includes v3.01 release with v3.3 compatibility which is in progress target release date of March.
- Community Supported Open Source: What would this look like?
Notes/Comments:
- What happened to the implementation Matrix with versions that we talked about? Itzel Torres (Deactivated) created the first draft but it will need to be reviewed and updated. Adding this as a task to review and share with the group.
- Group still sees value in reaching out to LEA's even after we've had new LEA members join. We want to make sure we capture high priority needs before making a recommendation.
- The goal is to complete these tasks in the next 2 months so we don't delay the progress the group has made overall.
- We might need to look for another time that works better for this group, a few suggestions:
- Shorten this meeting to 30 min and have members working on the same task schedule time to meet and use this time to report back to the rest of the group.
- Send Ann additional meeting times
