Meeting material PPT
Agenda/Meeting Notes
- Demos by Marcos Alcozer - See PPT for additional details
- LEAD Public Schools use of API to BigQuery
- Metro Nashville Public School's data extraction
- LEAD’s goals for their data out strategy are:
- Use the Ed-Fi API and not the ODS
- Move data to BigQuery for analytics
- Include data validation
- The data migration process uses an ELT strategy where the MNPS Ed-Fi API is the single source of truth with additional data loaded from an HR system and assessment vendors.
- The BigQuery landing space for Analytical Data also drives a Clever roster back to the assessment vendors
- The data marts generated in BigQuery allows data analysts to focus on the data questions they are trying to answer and not the source of the data
- The AMT based data marts also leverage school year as a key to differentiate between school years when providing analytics across multiple years
Action Items:
- 3rd demo session to be scheduled in March 2022
