TAG Meeting 2016-12-07

Participants

  • Neal Schuh
  • Mark Walls
  • Mark Reichert
  • Josh Klein
  • Geoff McElhanon
  • Don Dailey
  • Dirk Bradley (MI)

Notes

1.Deployment Benchmarks (continued from November)

Default template from Michigan/TRIG project looked like an acceptable instrument. Few changes suggested:

  • Add BulkLoad interchanges used where bulk performance data is imcluded
  • Clarify that "processor count" is number of cores
  • Clarify on sheet 3 that "build time" is dashboard build time
  • AZ performance work might be a model for API performance specs

Action: Eric to distribute to most mature Ed-Fi ODS implementations

Action: MI/Dirk to send out SCOM report to TAG to see if that might be useful (for future discussion)

2.  2017 Roadmap updates

See attached deck. Feedback:

  • Alignment with agency cycles makes sense.
  • Version number synchronization is a problem
  • Technical Congress:
    • Stay away from  spring break (late March/early April)
    • Sooner so it can be booked
    • Plug for Midwest given concentration of Ed-Fi
    • In future, have implementers host the meeting

3.TAG Changes

Comments:

  • MI/TRIG is an example of a collaborative that is more formal and prepared to represent itself - is there a way to make sure these needs are represented?
  • Clarification that the division of vendors into integrators and product vendors is still part of the plan
