The Ed-Fi “Classic Dashboards” are no longer supported through the Ed-Fi Alliance. You can still receive support and maintenance through the Ed-Fi vendor community. Please look at any of the vendors’ dashboard solutions on the Registry of Ed-Fi Badges or the Ed-Fi Starter Kits if you are looking for a visualization solution to use with the Ed-Fi ODS. This documentation will remain available to assist existing Classic Dashboard implementers.

Overview

Local assessments are measures of student progress toward educational objectives and standards. This broad category of assessments is referred to as "local" to distinguish them from statewide assessments, but generally speaking these assessments are more frequent and less high-stakes than statewide assessments, and are defined locally, by a teacher, campus, or district educator. Students will recognize these assessments as quizzes, chapter reviews, unit tests, and final exams.

The Ed-Fi Dashboards ship with specific metrics for benchmark assessments, reading assessments, and learning standards/coursework mastery.
