Review of the Alliance's 2020 Plans

The overall 2020 Plan has 5 focus areas for the Alliance leadership team:

  1. Break down vendor barriers to efficiently providing districts data (outside of state reporting)
  2. Create crystal clear onboarding, training, and support paths
  3. Accelerate Ed-Fi adoption in pre-existing & geographically bounded collaboratives
  4. Reinforcing the notion “Why wouldn’t you use Ed-Fi?”
  5. Deliver strategic roadmap items informed from direct community feedback

GAT members stressed the importance of: support to districts and continued assistance to connect the ODS/API to SIS and assessment vendors (especially rostering).

The 2020 Plan also addresses the following key areas of focus:

  1. SEA Focus: Includes integration of Ed-Fi and CEDS; SEA playbook; promotion of the Finance API RFC; assessment rostering; exploration of support for CRDC. GAT members offered support for or interest in: the Finance RFC (Arizona), CRDC (Texas), SEA collaboration with vendors (Nebraska), and stressed the importance of  engaging vendors in state discussions and decisions that affect them.
  2. LEA and LEA Collaboratives Focus: Includes investments in onboarding and training; defining key characteristics for successful ESC and Collaborative support for Ed-Fi; initiatives to address use case collision LEA's and SEA's ; quick-launch cohorts.
  3. Vendor Focus: Includes promotion of the badging program; vendor outreach strategy; certification for 10 new assessment vendors; contributions to Ed-Fi code base.
  4. TPDM Focus: Includes: continue to raise awareness among TPPs and SEAs; Foster 2 to 3 new TPP projects; an RFC to include TPDM in core release of ODS/API.
  5. Governance and Technology Roadmap: Includes supporting community work groups and use cases to evolve data model and standards governance; clarify contracts between agencies and vendors for data exchange; cadence of platform releases; address blockers to broader LEA and ESC adoption of Suite 3; core release of analytics middle tier.
  6. Communications and Community Engagement: Includes showcasing the community; segmenting the newsletter into different audiences; equipping Leadership Council to be advocates for Ed-Fi
