Program Design & Prioritization Process

This process relates to the overall Academy program design, including the roadmap, prioritization, and periodic review of material.

High-Level Program Review Cycle

Detailed Program Review Cycle

1. Initiate Annual Planning (Oct.)

The Annual Planning meeting kicks off a new training program cycle. We begin in Q4 so as to align with the foundation’s Hoshin and budget process.

Attendees

  • Training Program Lead (facilitator, required)
  • Sponsors and Leaders (anyone who must agree with planning outcome, required)
  • Stakeholders (everyone who should be informed or aware, optional)

Activities

  • Kickoff meeting for annual planning. Review process with stakeholders. Note specific dates for input, finalization.
  • Conduct retrospective on current year. Celebrate success. Acknowledge boo-boos.
  • Discuss high-level issues, proposed program-wide changes.
  • Set vision for next 12 months.

2. Conduct Resource Review (Nov.)

  • Conduct sunset review, identify material for archiving.
  • Conduct gap analysis, identify new training not in backlog.
  • Discuss and agree on priorities with decision makers.

3. Set Vision, Scope & Budget (Dec.)

4. Publish Annual Roadmap (Jan.)

5. Conduct Q1 Quarterly Review (Jan.)

6. Secure Contract & Staff Resources (Jan.)
