Installing the SDG 1.3

The Sample Data Generator application is available using the resource listed on the right.
System Requirements
The following is the minimum required software to successfully install and run the SDG:
- Windows 7+ / Windows Server 2008+
- PowerShell v2+
- ASP.NET Core 6.0 Runtime (v6.0.1) - Windows Hosting Bundle
Installing the SDG
Download SDG v1.3 as a ZIP package using the link on the right. Once the package is downloaded, use your archive tool of choice to unzip the file to a directory to work in. Below unzipping into C:\Ed-Fi\SDG as an example directory.
If you choose to use the NCES CCD automated configuration feature available in SDG v1.3, please download and unzip the "NCES CCD 2019-2020 Data (SQLite)" data file on the right as well into a directory for usage.
Once you install the SDG, you're ready to get started. The Running the SDG (v1.3) section and the User Guide has the conceptual and how-to information you'll need to start generating data.
