The goals of this SIG:

- Provide input on the evolution of and roadmap for Ed-Fi API standards in the data domains that SIS systems manage, by proposing changes or evaluating proposals to change that contractual interface. This would include suggestions for Ed-Fi Certification and Badge programs that help assess and publish compliance.standards and Certification, to help ensure these reflect SIS capabilities and industry best practice.
- Provide input on the evolution of and roadmap for the related open-source Ed-Fi technology , in areas beyond those defined by Ed-Fi standards but that have an impact on SIS systems roadmap, to help ensure its features support needs critical o SIS systems and the vendor community more broadly (e.g., specific authorization configuration, API performance or performance monitoring, roadmap and release practices, etc.)
- Identify community best practice and assist the Ed-Fi Alliance in monitoring and improving alignment to that best practiceEd-Fi standards. This includes working suggesting ways to monitor and improve API extension modeling practices in the field and suggesting the alignment of state and other Ed-Fi-based specifications with Ed-Fi's standards, and includes proposing improvements to programmatic work of the Alliance with State Education Agencies, Managed Service Providers, System Integrators and other to align the community to reflect and align to best practice.
- Allow Serve as a community-of-practice for SIS systems to share best practice in development operations or other aspects of their learn from each other, especially but not exclusively in the area of Ed-Fi worksupport.
