Introduction
The Finance Work Group (FWG) is an entity within the Ed-Fi Governance structure and intended to enhance the educational finance community’s engagement in, input into, and use work group will develop propose versions of Ed-Fi data and technology standards. The FWG’s main purpose is to represent the perspectives of the financial community (SEAs, LEAs, vendors and thought leaders) to the Ed-Fi Governance processes with the purpose of making the Ed-Fi data and technology standards more widely adopted and used. The FWG may make recommendations through the Ed-Fi Governance processes about investment in the Ed-Fi product roadmap and business strategies. The full charter for the FWG can be viewed at Finance Work Group Charter. standards suitable for broad international deployment and usage. Like the current Ed-Fi standards operating in United States K12 education, the standards will focus on primary and secondary education and will consider in its designs the practical needs of implementers to operationalize this model in field work. The work group will consider relationships to other standards efforts at scale and operating in the same core use cases, and also how current industry momentum for Ed-Fi and other standards can be maintained as new models are developed.
