Overview
Topic: Building integrations with the Ed-Fi API, using AI assistance for traditional applications and/or connecting AI-powered platforms to Ed-Fi data.
Background reading: https://docs.ed-fi.org/getting-started/provider-playbook/implementation/ed-fi-data-standard-in-the-age-of-ai (“AI whitepaper”)
Objectives:
Expand (relative to the white paper) on common use cases and high-level technical requirements, covering situations including:
Semantic Context: Using AI coding assistants to build system-to-system integrations
Data Access: Data authorization patterns for AI-powered platforms that serve end-users
Identify technical gaps and opportunities coming out of those use cases.
Propose and prioritize potential follow-up actions from members of the Ed-Fi Community and/or the Ed-Fi Alliance itself.
At Tech Congress, we contemplated having two different groups, separately covering points 1(a) and 1(b). Most people who signed up indicated interest in both. Given that, and the challenges with scheduling meetings, we are going have a single group, but we’ll split the meetings in this way:
Focus on 1(a) & 2
Focus on 1(b) & 2
Report back all together on next steps for the community
