Overview

Subject area grades are used most often at the primary levels, whereas course grades are most often used at the secondary levels. Subject Area Grade metrics take a focused look at current and historical achievement for core subjects such as math, science, social studies, and reading/ELA. As the name suggests, Failing Subject metrics look for current and historical failing grades in core subjects. Algebra I metrics focus on a subject that is both essential for higher mathematics achievement and an excellent predictor of eventual student success.
