Course Overview

Description

This mini course walks through the process for deploying a local instance of the Ed-Fi Platform. The course will demonstrate using Docker to run the workloads in both macOS and Windows environments, and will show the steps to implement the Ed-Fi Platform along with Swagger and the Ed-Fi Sandbox Administration Portal. This process will allow you to create and destroy ODS instances using both the minimal and populated templates. The minimal template is an empty ODS with only Ed-Fi descriptors in it, and the populated template is an ODS seeded with a sample dataset.

Who Should Enroll

  • Vendors who are interested in building an Ed-Fi integration and need a test environment.

Course Outcome

By the end of this course, Academy students will be able to:

  • Interact with an Ed-Fi Platform deployed in Sandbox mode.

  • Be able to create sandbox ODS instances using Ed-Fi minimal and populated templates.

  • Interact with a Swagger deployment as a means of making API calls against your ODS sandboxes.

Learning Objectives

The learning objectives for this course are:

  • To understand how the Ed-Fi API, ODS, and Swagger work together.

  • To be able to create and destroy sandbox ODS instances for testing and development purposes.
