The Data Visualization Work Group (AWG) is an established entity within the Ed-Fi Governance structure and is intended to enhance the community’s engagement in best practices and explore options to visualize and analyze Ed-Fi data in a meaningful and impactful way.
The DVWG’s main purpose is to evaluate the current role of the Ed-Fi Dashboards in data visualization and explore the future of this offering alongside options to best present the way the Ed-Fi Data Standard supports educational outcomes. This work group represents the perspectives of SEAs, LEAs, vendors and thought leaders to the Ed-Fi Governance processes with the purpose of making the Ed-Fi data and technology standards more widely adopted and used. The AWG may make recommendations through the Ed-Fi Governance processes about investment in the Ed-Fi product roadmap and business strategies.
The Assessment Work Group currently has 3 smaller subgroups, each which meets regularly to provide input and direction on community work, and to propose technical or other changes necessary to meeting the overall workgroup mission as defined in the charter.
Use Case subgroup. Discusses and develops use cases and proposes target areas to be addressed by the community and via the technical artifacts.
API Awareness and Adoption subgroup. Discusses how to drive adoption and scale for assessment exchange efforts, and proposes and leads programmatic community activity to support such adoption.
Technical subgroup. Provides input on the technical specifications and other artifacts (such as standards and certification requirements) necessary for seamless exchange of K12 assessment data.
Meeting activities of the subgroups are published under /wiki/spaces/GOV/pages/20317114 and are indicated as a subgroup meeting.
