Problem
The source data standard contains elements that are similar to elements that have already been mapped in other mapping projects.
Solution
Use the auto mapper Mapping Helper feature to scan other mapping projects for similar elements that have already been mapped to the target data standard and import those mappings as applicable.
Discussion
The auto mapper is especially helpful in cases where the source standard has a previous version that has already been mapped to the target standard or when the source standard has already been mapped to another standard that has been mapped to the target standard.
The auto mapper The Mapping Helper can provide a helpful starting point to mapping two standards. It primarily looks for matching names and paths and suggests mappings between elements. However, it's capabilities are limited. To understand the tool in more detail, please consult: User Guide - Mapping Helper.
The Mapping Helper may be used when creating a new project or in an existing project.
When creating a new project, select "Create Project with Auto Mapper"Mapping Helper.
