Problem

The source data standard contains elements that are similar to elements that have already been mapped in other mapping projects.

Solution

Use the auto mapper Mapping Helper feature to scan other mapping projects for similar elements that have already been mapped to the target data standard and import those mappings as applicable.

Discussion

The Auto Mapper The Mapping Helper can provide a helpful starting point to mapping 2 standards, but its two standards. It primarily looks for matching names and paths and suggests mappings between elements. However, it's capabilities are limited. The Mapping Helper may be used when creating a new project or in an existing project.

When creating a new project, select Create Project with Auto MapperMapping Helper.

To accept the suggested mappings, click Project With Results. 

For an existing mapping project, click the Actions tab and click Run Auto MapperMapping Helper.

Click Run Auto Mapper and Mapping Helper and review the suggested mappings.

To accept the suggestions, click Add Results to Project.
