The staging (or UAT) environment should be a replica of the production environment, using test data. The test data you use can be a backup of your production data populated in the Ed-Fi ODS. The The Production Deployment section section of the ODS/API documentation describes the factors that go into planning an Ed-Fi ODS/API deployment, along with guidance on creating a secure deployment. The production deployment guidelines are also applicable for staging areas.
